Edinburgh Sunset
This was inspired by a stunning sunset in July 2020. I am incredibly lucky to get these views of Edinburgh and Arthur’s Seat from my back garden. This painting has many layers of resin to achieve a 3D effect. Unfortunately the photo doesn’t do it justice.
Currently featured in East Linton Art Show and is available for purchase from there. https://elas2020.weebly.com/
Alone
“Alone” is a faceless sitting person formed with an armature and old cloths dipped in Powertex to set the material. I love the texture of the cloth and detail in the hands. The shadows and highlights were enhanced with a small amount of acrylic paint. There is a ball bearing and magnet in the base to add a bit of weight to the body. It is intended to sit on the edge of a shelf with the cloth covering the legs hanging off the shelf. The base has black felt for aesthetic purposes and to protect the shelf. The wooden plinth is purely there for photographic purposes. If you would rather the sculpture on a plinth please contact me to discuss costs and timescales. He is approximately 22 cm from head to toe.

Magma AP
Abstract painted during Covid 19 in October 2020. It is acrylic coated with clear resin on a 15 x 50cm plywood board. I particularly like that the sides of the board are also painted and resin coated, creating a wonderful shine over the whole piece. This was an exploratory piece for a 1800 x 30cm commission that I have just completed. The final commission was based on this.

Sunrise over Rothiemurchus
One of the rare occasions that I was up early enough to see how beautiful sunrises are. I was with my family and Cliff visiting the Cairngorm Sleddog Centre in Aviemore.
Castle at Night
Edinburgh Castle at night from Lothian Road, looking majestic as always. I loved the silhouette and the way the last bit of light just caught the top of the trees.
Fireworks I
The first in a quadrilogy of firework scenes from Castle Terrace. This can be purchased with Fireworks II in a set of cards. I have always loved fireworks due to the excitement and atmosphere created by the bursts of colour. Fireworks always take me straight back to my childhood in Laggan, gazing at the fireworks with my family, in front of a roaring bonfire with a sparkler in one hand and a mug of soup in the other. I am a child at heart!
Fireworks II
The second in a quadrilogy of firework scenes from Castle Terrace. This can be purchased with Fireworks I in a set of cards.
Fireworks III
The third in a quadrilogy of firework scenes from Castle Terrace.
Fireworks IV

Bird of Paradise
I have always had an interest in nature, flora and fauna. This is one of my favourite flowers.
Castle from Grassmarket
Edinburgh Castle at the end of festival fireworks in 2004. This painting holds a lot of memories for me. Cliff and I were at the very start of our relationship and spent the evening with our dear friends, Holly and Simon, watching the fireworks with a lot of hilarity. I am delighted that the painting was bought as a Christmas present for another fab friend and I still see Kat and the painting frequently. Thank you Aileen! ; )
Tyne Bridges & Tall Ships
I loved seeing the tall ships during the 2005 Tall Ships Race in Newcastle. They can be seen in the background of the painting between the iconic bridges.

Edinburgh Nights
Silhouettes of Edinburgh’s skyline as the sun sets over one of the many monuments in Princes Street Gardens.
Uluru, Ayers Rock
Painted as a gift for Cliff the year after we met. We quickly discovered that we both had an affinity for Uluru and had spent hours photographing the changing light there in the same year before we met. I love the way that the light changes the shadows and colours on the painting, much like the monolith itself.
Hill Inlet, Whitsundays
Not for Sale. One of my favourite places in the world where I had many wonderful experiences and met some amazing people who remain my friends (you know who you are!). Due to David Attenborough, I always wanted to visit The Great Barrier Reef and I am privileged to have done so. The images of the land, sea and sea life of this area (and David Attenborough) continue to inspire me. Perhaps one day, I will make it back to Airlie Beach.
